Writing Retreat Day 3: A Busy Mind Is Totally OK [5 min]

I had a huge realization today, and it related to the coaching I got from Amir before I arrived. If you haven’t heard that, definitely listen to it! You can find it here. I’ve been beating myself up for having a busy mind and today I realized that’s totally ok. Maybe that sounds stupid but it was huge for me.

Writing Retreat Day 2: It’s Working! And Easier Than I Thought [12 min]

Day two was magical. So many realizations and insights and I felt like the day was really a success. There was even a point where I realized if I wrote nothing the whole week this would be a total success.

Writing Retreat Day 1: Welcome to Paradise [6 min]

Welcome to a special week of Darken the Page. Dave created a writing retreat for himself at the beach in Bali (tough life, right?). Every day there will be a short audio on his notes about what he’s learned, what worked and what was frustrating.

Bonus: Dave get coached by Amir Karkouti on his Writing Retreat

In this special episode, Dave is preparing for a week long writing retreat and talks with his friend and writing coach Amir Karkouti (from episode 003). We talk about not going in with any expectations, and how insights can come in any state of mind. This was a great conversation and I’m excited to share it, and my process with everyone.

Ep.22 Ecstatic Writing and the Perfect Bali Writing Nest w/ Margot Anand

How would you like to experience ecstatic writing? What if writing were as connected and wonderful as love making? Margot Anand joins the show to talk about her writing process, what it was like being under the wing of a big publisher and what it’s like now being on her own. We talk about her writing nest in Bali and why (in my opinion) it’s a writer’s heaven.
